HOW DO I BOOK A CHILD INTO AN OPENWORLD EVENT?
Bookings are made via the secure Trybooking ticketing website.

You will receive a confirmation via email after booking.
CAN MY CHILD BE WITH THEIR FRIEND/SIBLING?
If you wish to ensure your child is in the same activities with sibling and/or friend, they will need to be enrolled in the same days.
WHEN DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY BOOKING?
Payment is required at the time of booking. Our prices do not include card-processing fees.

HOW ARE THE FULL DAY PROGRAMS STRUCTURED ?
Children can arrive and register from 8:00am onwards.
Organised lessons, challenges and activities start at 9:00 am and finish by 3:00 pm. Children may be picked up from 3:00 pm onwards, but no later than 6:00 pm. Children have the opportunity for unstructured play, discovery and creating before and after structured activities.
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon breaks are scheduled every day.
Children are allowed to go to the toilet or drink water (from their own drink bottle) as needed.
Children are supervised the entire time.
WILL THE KIDS GET OUTSIDE DURING FULL DAY PROGRAMS?
Many of our activities are computer or desktop based, so we ensure the children get regular breaks throughout the day for fresh air and a run around outside. Free play during break times is supervised by leaders and takes place within a designated area near the maker space. Children are not allowed to leave the designated play areas, or to wander the grounds.
DO YOUR STAFF HAVE WORKING WITH CHILDREN (WWC) CHECKS?
Yes. All our staff and volunteers have Victorian Working with Children (WWC) Checks.
ARE YOU REGISTERED FOR GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES?
We are a social enterprise and our funding comes entirely from our own operations. We are not part of any rebate or payment schemes funded by Governments. Our events help us with our mission to provide play and friendship opportunities for kids at risk of social isolation esp those impacted by Autism.

WHAT IS MINECRAFT?
Minecraft is a “Sandbox” or “Openworld” style game. The game is played in a world generated by the computer however play is directed by the child. The main play is focused on gathering or mining resources, making (crafting) items and building structures. If the player chooses they can extend the game to include combat with monsters or other players or undertake the construction of elaborate machines. SHOULD MY CHILD HAVE A MINECRAFT ACCOUNT?
Yes. We recommend that children have their own Minecraft accounts so Parents and our Moderators can manage and monitor their activities. Children with their own account will be be able to access our family friendly and secure servers and can continue to play with new friends after our events in a secure and moderated environment. If children do not have an account they will only be have limited ability to participate in the activities and anything they build or create will be inaccessible afterwards.
DO CHILDREN NEED A MINECRAFT ACCOUNT FOR THE WORKSHOP OR PROGRAM?
YES. For the Holiday Program all Children MUST have their own unique MINECRAFT PC Account (for MAC, Windows or LINUX).
Children must know their unique User Name, the email address that was used to set the account up, and the password for their account.
- You can not share accounts between siblings and friends
- You can not use an XBOX, CONSOLE or POCKET EDITION account
- You do not get a MINECRAFT PC Account when you play the iPAD and other Pocket edition versions of the game.
- A Mojang account (i.e. free) is not a MINECRAFT account (i.e. cost ~$25)
- We can not lend, rent or share you an account we own and we don't have "spare" account
CAN MY KIDS SHARE AN ACCOUNT OR USE ONE OF YOURS?
No. Only one player can be logged into a Minecraft account on a computer at any one time. Each player needs their own account. Sharing accounts is not permitted by the Microsoft Mojang EULA. .
WHERE CAN I GET A MINECRAFT ACCOUNT?
To play the PC version of Minecraft your child requires a PC Minecraft account which cost approx $25. These can be purchased from Mojang (available from: https://minecraft.net/store/minecraft) or via Minecraft Gift cards via local gaming stores (inc.7-Elevens, JB Hi Fi, Myer, EB Games).

Children need to bring their own lunch, snacks and drinks. We require children have a hat and recommend sunscreen for outside breaks. You will also need to bring along your registration forms fully filled in and signed to speed up registration
WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST WE BRING TO THE FULL DAY PROGRAMS?
Children can bring along other favorite activities and technology at their own risk.
We can not be held responsible for any loss or damage to items brought to the Holiday Programs or Workshops.
We suggest that children bring a USB memory stick so they can save any work to take home.
CAN MY CHILD BRING A DEVICE OR LAPTOP
Children are permitted to bring devices to the Full Day Programs. We love tech and we are happy for children to bring laptops, devices (iPads etc.), smart watches and gadgets along to tinker with to the Program. You are not permitted to bring devices to workshops unless it is allowed as part of the workshop activity. Children must use equipment we have configured and provide them for nominated activities and not connect devices to our infrastructure.
CAN I CONNECT TO YOUR NETWORK
No. Your devices will NOT be permitted to connect to our networks, WiFi or internet connections.
DO WE NEED ELECTRICAL TESTING AND TAGGING?
We have an obligation to ensure that we provide a safe place for work and play. All equipment that is to be connected to the mains power must have been tested and tagged.
DO YOU NEED TO CHECK MY COMPUTER OR DEVICE?
Yes. If children bring computers and devices they must be open for inspection. Devices with viruses, hacking tools or similar issues will not be permitted at our events.
WHAT IS NOT PERMITTED?
We will not permit children to bring material or activities that are disruptive or have inappropriate subject matter including horror, real warfare or adult content. Children are not permitted to bring replica weapons, nerf guns or water pistols etc. Collectible or valuable items are not encouraged.
CAN MY CHILD BRING THEIR OWN INTERNET CONNECTION DEVICE?
Some children may have been provided with a smart phone, device or computer which has built-in Internet access. We do not want viruses, hacks or inappropriate content downloaded at our Events. All devices must be made available for inspection and if the device cannot be secured it will be sequestered.

WILL THIS PROGRAM BE OK FOR MY CHILD WHO HAS A SOCIAL DIFFICULTY?
Our aim to make our programs a safe play environment, which is inclusive, and where children can meet and connect with others who share similar interests. When enrolling, if you feel comfortable, please include any information which will help us make your child’s day more fun.
Children are encouraged to play at a pace they are comfortable with and our leaders can adapt or extend activities to suit different play styles. We are not able to provide specific aids for supported play (inc. play therapy) on an individual basis within these particular program.
The area will have many children participating in different activities and working on various projects. The environment will be similar to an open plan classroom.
Although we have years of experience helping children with Autism and social issues integrate we are not therapists. Supported play or play therapy is not provided via OPEN WORLD. In Melbourne, Play therapy is available via many professional groups (e.g. http://playtherapymelbourne.com/). Children must be able to reasonably respond to verbal instructions provided by leaders, and not detract from other children’s participation in activities. If a child is unable to cope with the environment, their parent or caregiver may be contacted, with the expectation that the child will be collected promptly. In some cases, we may also choose to exclude a child from the remainder of activities. This policy is necessary to ensure the fun, safety and well being of all children and staff.

CAN I STAY, WATCH, WORK OR HELP AT THE HOLIDAY PROGRAM OR WORKSHOP
No. We do not permit Adults to linger in the venue. Adults must leave the venue promptly (within 5 minute) of signing your child in. If you are concerned about your child's behavior or separation anxiety please discuss this with us prior to the event. We can not accommodate children with DSM-V Level 3 or Level 2 ASD in our regular activities. However if your child has a Level 1 diagnosis (or may have a previous diagnosed such as High Functioning Asperger) our activities may be suited to your child's interests. We plan for our events to provide a great opportunity for like minded kids to develop friendships and practice social skills. If you are worried please arrange a time to meet with us and review available advice such as this Guide on Playground Strategies.
"PLEASE! I'LL JUST SIT QUIETLY AND WORK ON MY LAPTOP"
No! You must leave promptly. We want to provide kids with their own space so they can relax and interact on their own terms. Our Staff will do their best to settle and integrate all the children. If this proves too difficult we will contact you to assist us manage the situation.

Medical
DO YOU PROVIDE MEDICAL CARE.
No. We can not provide medical care and do not have first aid officers. We will call ambulance and you will be liable for any costs in case of an emergency.
WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS AN ALLERGY?
Please notify us if your child has any allergies prior to registration. To reduce the risk of exposure to food allergens, children are required to eat outside the activity areas and are prohibited from sharing food. However, we are not able to guarantee that the venue is completely free of contamination, and we are unable accommodate children with severe or life-threatening allergies.
WHAT IF MY CHILD NEEDS TO TAKE MEDICATION?
Our staff are unable to administer medications to children, and are not responsible for ensuring that children self-administer any medications.
Your child must be responsible for any medications that they require during our events.
WHAT IF MY CHILD BECOMES SICK?
Children will be sent home if they are unwell or have a communicable illness that poses a risk to other people. This policy is necessary to ensure the health and well being of all children and staff.
Children must not attend if they experience: vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, faintness/exhaustion, severe coughing or sneezing, or any communicable rash or infection (such as measles, chicken pox, boils, lice, scabies or ‘school sores’). Unwell children will be sent home at the discretion of our staff, and will need to be collected promptly by a parent or caregiver.
If your child is unable to attend due to an unexpected illness you must advise us as soon as possible. If we are ale to fill their place you will receive a refund otherwise you will forfeit the ticket and there will be no refund.
CANCELLATION
WHAT IS YOUR CUSTOMER CANCELLATION POLICY?
For cancellations up to 21 days before the start date you will be refunded the full amount, minus a processing fee. For cancellations between 21 and 7 days of the start date, no refund will be made unless your place can be resold. No refund will be made for any booking cancelled within 7 days of the event

HOW DO I PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THE PROGRAM?
We ask that you contact us immediately if you are dissatisfied with our program or staff. Feedback is very important to us. You can email us via our web form with the details of any issues or ideas. If you have concerns about another child’s behaviour we will need a written account of the behaviours. This allows us to immediately address any problems that may arise, so that children and parents can happily continue with the remainder of the program.
We ask that you contact us immediately if you are dissatisfied with our program or staff. Feedback is very important to us. You can email us via our web form with the details of any issues or ideas. If you have concerns about another child’s behaviour we will need a written account of the behaviours. This allows us to immediately address any problems that may arise, so that children and parents can happily continue with the remainder of the program.
TICKETING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
This event occurs on Private Property and Patrons are bound by the Organiser’s Terms and Conditions.
Unauthorised persons are prohibited from entering the Event. The right of admission is reserved even where a person (a.k.a. a Patron) holds a valid ticket. In particular the Organiser (inc. Event staff and other authorised persons) reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, the Event any Patrons who are drunk or disorderly or whose conduct is unlawful or offensive in the sole view of the Organiser.
Any Patron who causes a disturbance or who refuses to comply with requests from the Organiser will be removed from the Event. Children must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times unless the have been signed into a program or activity supervised by event management staff or another authorised person. The event is not a service providing or intending to provide education and care on a regular basis and is not regulated under the Children’s Services Act as per section 5 .
The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, the Event or to refer to the police any Children who are without adult supervision or under supervison of event management staff or another authorised person
Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Event. Patrons who smoke in the Event or who fail to obey a direction from the Organiser, event management staff or another authorised person to cease smoking in the Event will be immediately evicted from the Venue.
All Patrons entering the event WILL have their image or likeness recorded for commercial use. It is a condition of entry that Patrons consent to commercial use of their likeness and the likeness of the children attending. Note that if a Patron refuses this condition of entry they are not permitted to enter the venue and be required to leave the Event promptly. Persons are not permitted to enter this Event if they are subject to orders that prohibit recordings (inc. photography) of themselves or children they accompany. By entering the event Patrons consent to the Organiser making recordings of them and accompanied children and they authorise the Organiser, and our licensees or assignees, to use the recordings, photographs and/or drawings therefrom and any other reproductions or adaptations therefrom either complete or in part alone or in conjunction with any wording and/or drawings for all uses including commercial use, publicity and/or merchandising and/or editorial purposes in any country.
Patrons acknowledge that they do not have any interest in the copyright to the recordings and shall not receive any further payment for use recordings or use of a likeness or that of children.Unless otherwise agreed adaptations of recordings thereof shall be deemed to represent an imaginary person. Recording devices including Cameras (digital cameras and phone cameras), audio and video recorders may only be brought into the Event by Patrons at the sole discretion of Organisers.
Patrons are not permitted to transmit, broadcast, sell, license or otherwise publish, disseminate or reproduce any recordings (including photographic, video or sound recordings) of the Event without the prior written approval of Organisers. Such recording devices and recordings may be confiscated or erased. Any recordings or recording device, which are confiscated, will be return at discretion Event Organiser.
Patrons must not wear or display commercial, political, religious or offensive signage or logos, sell any goods or services or give away political, religious, advertising or promotional materials without the prior written approval of the Organisers.
Patrons who are, in the opinion of Event management, offensively attired or whose attire may cause a hazard or compromise safety may also be refused entry into the Event. Bags and other items may be subject to inspection and Patrons may be searched. Patrons who refuse inspections or searches may be denied entry to the Event.
Pass-outs may be issued at the discretion of the Organisers. Childred under the supervison of event management staff will not be provided with pass-outs and will not be permitted to leave the venue without being transfered to the care of an authorised parent or carer.
Patrons are not permitted to bring food or beverage products purchased at commercial outlets outside the Event’s licensed area into the Event. Decisions about whether such products will be permitted are at the sole discretion of the Organisers. Where the event or program requires patrons to bring their own food or beverage ths may not be sold or shared with any other person within the event.
Alcoholic beverages must not be taken into or out of the Event.
Deliveries from external caterers will not be permitted into the Event. Patrons will be advised to dispose of such items or will have the items confiscated prior to entering the Event. Items, which, in the sole opinion of Organisers, have the potential to cause injury or a nuisance or inconvenience to any other person, will not be permitted into the Event. These include controlled, dangerous or illegal substances, cans, bottles, flares, fireworks, laser pointers, loud hailers and weapons of any description and may include certain musical instruments, flags and flagpoles and any other items considered by the Organisers to have the potential to cause injury or a nuisance or inconvenience to any other person.
Patrons assume all risk of any damage or loss (including property damage, personal injury, economic and consequential loss) however it arises at the Event.
Patrons bring personal effects onto the premises at their own risk. Organisers will not be responsible for any damage to or loss or theft of a Patron’s personal property.
Patrons with tickets purchased at a concessional price must have available on entry into the Event proof of age or other documents justifying such concession.
Patrons may not be admitted if their tickets are damaged or defaced or their tickets have not been purchased from an authorised ticket agent. Patrons who have purchased tickets via Ticket scalping or in a manner indirectly from the Event ticket will be refused entry to the Event.
The Event may be cancelled, delayed or stopped due to dangerous situations, riot, adverse weather, malicious acts, power loss, computer failure or for any other cause beyond the Organiser’s control. The Organisers will not provide a refund if the Event is cancelled, delayed or stopped. Ticket purchase cost such as credit card charges will not be refunded. The Organiser may add, withdraw or substitute content, artists and/or vary advertised material, programmes, prices, seating arrangements, audience capacity, the venue or programme times without liability to the Organiser.
Tickets may not, without the prior written consent of the Organiser seller, be traded, gifted, resold or offered for resale at a premium (including via on-line auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, either by the original purchaser or any subsequent bearer. If a ticket is sold or used in breach of this condition, the ticket may be cancelled without a refund and the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission.
Scalping warning: The resale of tickets in certain circumstances is governed by ticket sales legislation and may attract criminal penalties.
Unauthorised persons are prohibited from entering the Event. The right of admission is reserved even where a person (a.k.a. a Patron) holds a valid ticket. In particular the Organiser (inc. Event staff and other authorised persons) reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, the Event any Patrons who are drunk or disorderly or whose conduct is unlawful or offensive in the sole view of the Organiser.
Any Patron who causes a disturbance or who refuses to comply with requests from the Organiser will be removed from the Event. Children must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times unless the have been signed into a program or activity supervised by event management staff or another authorised person. The event is not a service providing or intending to provide education and care on a regular basis and is not regulated under the Children’s Services Act as per section 5 .
The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, the Event or to refer to the police any Children who are without adult supervision or under supervison of event management staff or another authorised person
Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Event. Patrons who smoke in the Event or who fail to obey a direction from the Organiser, event management staff or another authorised person to cease smoking in the Event will be immediately evicted from the Venue.
All Patrons entering the event WILL have their image or likeness recorded for commercial use. It is a condition of entry that Patrons consent to commercial use of their likeness and the likeness of the children attending. Note that if a Patron refuses this condition of entry they are not permitted to enter the venue and be required to leave the Event promptly. Persons are not permitted to enter this Event if they are subject to orders that prohibit recordings (inc. photography) of themselves or children they accompany. By entering the event Patrons consent to the Organiser making recordings of them and accompanied children and they authorise the Organiser, and our licensees or assignees, to use the recordings, photographs and/or drawings therefrom and any other reproductions or adaptations therefrom either complete or in part alone or in conjunction with any wording and/or drawings for all uses including commercial use, publicity and/or merchandising and/or editorial purposes in any country.
Patrons acknowledge that they do not have any interest in the copyright to the recordings and shall not receive any further payment for use recordings or use of a likeness or that of children.Unless otherwise agreed adaptations of recordings thereof shall be deemed to represent an imaginary person. Recording devices including Cameras (digital cameras and phone cameras), audio and video recorders may only be brought into the Event by Patrons at the sole discretion of Organisers.
Patrons are not permitted to transmit, broadcast, sell, license or otherwise publish, disseminate or reproduce any recordings (including photographic, video or sound recordings) of the Event without the prior written approval of Organisers. Such recording devices and recordings may be confiscated or erased. Any recordings or recording device, which are confiscated, will be return at discretion Event Organiser.
Patrons must not wear or display commercial, political, religious or offensive signage or logos, sell any goods or services or give away political, religious, advertising or promotional materials without the prior written approval of the Organisers.
Patrons who are, in the opinion of Event management, offensively attired or whose attire may cause a hazard or compromise safety may also be refused entry into the Event. Bags and other items may be subject to inspection and Patrons may be searched. Patrons who refuse inspections or searches may be denied entry to the Event.
